Boot Camp Fitness

Yes Sir, I Love Boot Camp Fitness!

My daughter-in-law is a personal physical trainer. She told me last summer she was going to start a class in boot camp fitness. I asked her what that was. She was very excited about starting this class and helping a bunch of people all at once, instead of just helping one person at a time. She told me how she was going to conduct the class.

She told me she was going to hold the class in a park in the town she lived in. She said this class would be like going through boot camp in the military, but not quite so harsh, just intense. She was going to start her class by teaching some stretching exercises, so that her clients wouldn't get cramps or hurt anything while going to the rest of the class.

After some stretching exercises, the boot camp fitness class would consist of everyone learning some aerobic exercises. She wanted to make sure the class would get some cardio work done. Starting with some standing in place exercises to music, then eventually going into a relay-type of exercises.

She would have timed exercise stations, using a stop-watch, kind of like musical chairs for grown-ups, but instead of trying out new chairs, the classmates would take turns exercising at several different stations. One might be doing squats, the other could be step-aerobics, another might be crunchies or push-ups. Some could be doing jumping jacks, another station might be jumping rope, and yet another station might be using a stretch band to do some leg stretches. Each station at the boot camp fitness station exercised a different set of muscles.

When each member of the class had experienced every station on the boot camp fitness grounds at least twice, then they would all be gathered again for a really good brisk walk, turning into a cooling down walk.

This boot camp fitness class met at least three times a week. If you really wanted to get in shape and do it in a group situation, the boot camp fitness class is the best thing in the world for you. You get into shape and you make new friends while you're doing it. And when you take a boot camp fitness class outside, you get the benefit of some fresh air as well.

All-in-all I felt the boot camp fitness class was a great idea. If I lived closer to my daughter-in-law, I would have been right there joining the class. There might be a boot camp fitness class I could join in my town also. I need to look that up. If there isn't, maybe I should start a boot camp fitness class in my town, but first I need to get my accreditation for being a personal physical fitness trainer, like my daughter-in-law. I'm planning to do that in the next couple of years. Until then, I'll just find someone in my town that has started their own boot camp fitness classes here.
